The Body Eclectic '10Febuary 3 - 27, 2010 Opening Reception: Friday, Febuary 5 from 6pm - 9pm, awards at 7:30pm
"The Body Eclectic 2010" is a juried competition and exhibition that celebrates the figure in all forms and media, both two and three dimensional. This is one of the most popular yearly attractions at the Gallery for artists and collectors alike. Each year over 100 local artists enter to exhibit their work which covers a range from the traditional to the outrageous, in media such as photography, clay, painting, drawing, metal, and much, much more. The juror for the show is Lucille P. Nawara, who has taught drawing and painting at Wayne State University, Cranbrook Academy of Art and the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. She has been the recipient of multiple creative artists' grants and has devoted several years to coordinating art exhibitions at the former Nawara Gallery and non-profit Detroit Focus Gallery.
